The 2026 CMAS Underwater Photo & Video World Cup — Madeira

Matthias Lebo's official recap of the CMAS World Cup 2026 in Madeira, Portugal · July 16, 2026

The 2026 CMAS World Cup in Underwater Photography and Video took over Madeira Island, Portugal — more than 40 teams from countries around the world, three days of competition, six dives, all chasing the title of World Cup Champion 2026. Once again the organisers turned to underwater cinematographer Matthias Lebo — a longtime friend of UWACAM — to capture the whole event, and this is the film he brought back.

From the athletes' accreditation to the competition days above and below the surface, right through to the award ceremony, Matthias' recap distils a flawlessly run event into a few unforgettable minutes: smiles, focus, world-class imagery, and a whole community of underwater image makers doing what they love — in the same waters we're proud to keep supporting.
